Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), foster an inclusive learning environment, and support children with diverse developmental needs. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young children with disabilities, including those with autism, speech or language delays, and other developmental challenges. The teacher will collaborate with families, therapists, and other educators to promote optimal growth and learning for each student. Responsibilities • Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula tailored to the individual needs of preschool children with disabilities, including those with autism, speech delays, or developmental disabilities. • Create a positive, engaging classroom environment that encourages social-emotional development and active participation. • Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques. • Conduct assessments using standardized testing and observational methods to monitor student progress. • Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to support speech therapy, behavioral therapy, and early intervention strategies. • Prepare and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations. • Utilize learning technology and educational tools to enhance lesson planning and instructional delivery. • Implement literacy education, math activities, physical education, and Montessori or other specialized teaching methods as appropriate. • Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, behavior incidents, and communication with families regarding child welfare and developmental milestones. • Participate in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, classroom management, deaf education, working with children with autism or disabilities, and other relevant areas. Skills • Strong classroom management skills to create a structured yet flexible learning environment. • Experience in curriculum development tailored for early childhood special education settings. • Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, behavioral health strategies, and behavioral management approaches. • Familiarity with IEP development and implementation processes. • Ability to work effectively with children with autism, developmental disabilities, or other special needs. • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, therapists, and colleagues. • Proficiency in using learning technology and educational software for lesson planning and student engagement. • Experience working within early intervention programs or preschool settings is highly desirable. • Childcare experience including toddler care or daycare background is beneficial. • Understanding of childhood development principles across various domains such as literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
