Assistant to the VP of Marketing The Burmax Company, a leading professional beauty supply organization based in Holtsville, NY, is seeking an Assistant to the VP of Marketing to join our team. Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing, this role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in beauty school and product marketing while learning the “behind-the-scenes” operations of the beauty supply industry. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: · Support the development and production of the company’s annual 600+ page catalog, including content review, editing, and coordination with design and creative teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely completion · Contribute to new product development by assisting with product selection, drafting engaging copy, and preparing briefs for the creative department · Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to guide marketing strategies · Write compelling promotional copy for new and existing professional products · Proofread and edit print communications to ensure accuracy and consistency · Collaborate with marketing and design teams to update packaging for new and existing products · Support the creation of social media content and video production · Coordinate and support annual Sample Sale, including organizing product selections, preparing promotional materials, and assisting with event logistics to ensure smooth execution · Provide executive support to senior leadership, including managing phone communications, scheduling meetings, coordinating calendars, arranging travel, and ensuring timely follow-up on key priorities Required Skills and Preferred Qualifications: This role requires strong communication skills (both written and verbal), and a minimum of one to three years of experience writing, proofing, and editing communications materials. A Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field is required for this role as well as the following skills: · Creative mindset with attention to detail and a passion for the beauty industry · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) a plus · Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously · The ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment · Problem solving skills · Superior project management skills · Friendly and assertive attitude · Familiarity with project management software like Asana a plus Our stable company offers a full range of benefits including Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid vacation & holidays.
