Software Engineer–Developer (Experienced or Senior) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Company is currently seeking Software Engineers–Developers (Experienced or Senior) to support our Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Software Engineering team located in Everett, Washington. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) business organization. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a next-generation project that will advance the digital connectivity capability of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. You will collaborate with a group of engineers and contribute to the software design, development, and implementation. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and Senior Level Software Engineers. Position Responsibilities: Designing and developing microservices for custom Linux solutions: You will leverage your expertise in technologies, such as Containers, API, Inter-process Communication to design and develop scalable and resilient microservices that form the backbone of the application. Collaborating with cross-functional teams: You will work closely with other software engineers, architects, product managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements, define technical solutions, and ensure successful delivery of the application. Implementing best practices and coding standards: You will adhere to industry best practices and coding standards to ensure the application is robust, maintainable, and efficient. You will also contribute to code reviews and provide constructive feedback to your peers. Ensuring security and reliability: You will incorporate security measures and implement robust error handling and fault tolerance mechanisms to ensure the application is secure and reliable. Keeping up with emerging technologies: You will stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in computing, microservices architecture, and related technologies. You will actively explore and evaluate new tools and frameworks that can enhance the application's performance and capabilities. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering on Linux based platforms 3+ years of experience developing software products in a high availability computing environment 5+ years of experience in real-time software development Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. Level 3: 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Level 4: 10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Strong understanding of C, C++, Java, Python Experience with microservices and APIs Experience with cloud infrastructure technologies such as Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes Experience with object-oriented concepts and design patterns Experience with database design and SQL Experience with Git CI/CD continuous integration and deployment Knowledge of networking protocols and IP communication technologies Experience with communications and data security (ex: PKI) Understanding of enterprise-level development practices and coding standards Understanding of Custom Linux using Yocto Framework Drug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace (DFW) where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
