Youth Athletes United (YAU) is a leading educational sports program throughout the country. We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic youth sports coach to join their team. As a coach, you will work with small groups of children across various ages, developing their skills, physical literacy, and teamwork abilities. As a coach, your role will be instrumental in the development of children's gross motor skills and socialization skills, making a positive impact on their lives. Whether it's through classes, camps, afterschool enrichment, birthday parties, or team training, you will be part of making a difference in the lives of over 100,000 participants each year. This job is perfect for part-time workers, retirees, teachers, and anyone else with a flexible schedule who have a passion for sports, love working with young children, and wants to give back to their community! The ideal team member will have experience working in Tennis, Golf, Pickleball, Cheer or Flag Football. Candidates MUST be able/open to learning and coaching the listed sports. Schedules will vary but class times will typically fall between Monday-Friday: 2pm - 6pm. Must be willing to travel to East LA and Santa Monica for classes. Ideally this position will involve 7-9 hours/week coaching classes, 3-5 hours per week managing equipment, and 6 hours helping with recruitment, hiring, running trainings and doing class observations. Coaching Compensation: Starting rate $21 an hour upon completion of coach test. Higher rates up to $25 will be reviewed in relation to experience. Other pathways are available with increased pay based on performance. Admin Compensation: $21. Will be required to work in the office with the team on Thursdays and Fridays. Passion for working with children and improving their physical literacy, gross motor skills, and socialization skills! Strong sports background with general sports knowledge. Must have reliable transportation as all programs are run at local schools and parks. Ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with children and parents. Must be punctual (classes are held after school in the afternoons and children are counting on you) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds Must be able to carry golf, tennis, and pickleball kits Lead, provide materials for and participate in coach training Oversee equipment distribution and maintain inventory Liaise with parents and locations to receive feedback on staff performance and program content Experience managing and staff development
