Full Description

Senior Data Engineer — Advertising Data Platform The Ads Data Team, part of the Ad Platforms organization, is transforming the advertising landscape across TV and streaming through advanced data and AI-driven solutions. Our mission is to build intelligent systems that power the full advertising lifecycle—from planning and activation to measurement and optimization. We operate as a highly collaborative, cross-functional engineering group building end-to-end platform capabilities across machine learning, big data systems, microservices, and data visualization. Our work drives foundational capabilities supporting audience solutions, inventory forecasting, operational data infrastructure, and full-funnel measurement within Company’s addressable advertising ecosystem. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Advertising Data Platform Engineering team. In this role, you will help define technical strategy, set engineering standards, and build scalable systems that support high-volume data workflows. You’ll partner closely with engineering teams, data scientists, and product stakeholders to deliver mission-critical solutions that shape the future of advertising. This role is ideal for an engineer with deep experience building scalable backend or full-stack systems, and strong familiarity with modern big data and streaming technologies. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data platform components supporting real-time and batch processing workloads. • Own the full software development lifecycle including architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. • Drive engineering best practices, including code quality, performance tuning, automated testing, CI/CD, and operational excellence. • Lead technical architecture discussions and influence key engineering decisions across systems and services. • Collaborate with product managers, program managers, data scientists, and QA to deliver high-impact features aligned to business objectives. • Mentor and support other engineers, fostering a culture of inclusion, innovation, and technical excellence. • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues with a focus on stability, reliability, and performance. • Evaluate and adopt emerging tools, frameworks, and technologies to continuously evolve the platform. Basic Qualifications • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with languages such as Scala, Python, or similar. • 3+ years of hands-on experience developing solutions using technologies such as Spark, Flink, Kafka, Airflow, SingleStore, and AWS big data services. • Strong understanding of distributed systems, data modeling, and performance optimization. • Experience building highly available, scalable platform services in production environments. • Solid understanding of systems design, application architecture, and modern engineering patterns. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams. • Passion for learning, innovation, and working across interdisciplinary technology areas. Preferred Qualifications • Experience building and deploying data pipelines using Databricks. • Familiarity with data governance, observability tooling, or compliance frameworks. • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and tooling such as Terraform, Kubernetes, Spinnaker, IAM, ALB, etc. • Experience working with Snowflake, Kinesis, AWS Lambda, or similar. • Experience building microservices using frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, FastAPI, NestJS, or equivalent. Education • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field required.
