AI Engineer Intern (Unpaid) – Generative AI, RAG, AI Agents (Potential Full-Time) Company: Symosis Security Location: Remote Type: Internship (Unpaid) Future Opportunity: Strong potential for full-time paid role as the AI Division scales About Symosis Security Symosis Security helps enterprises build intelligent, secure, and resilient systems at the intersection of cybersecurity, AI, and secure engineering. We specialize in: • Generative AI security & AI risk • Advanced threat protection & cloud security • SaaS posture management (SSPM) • Red teaming & offensive security • Zero Trust programs • Compliance automation (NIST, ISO, CSF, RMF) • Security automation & AI-driven tooling We work with public-sector and private-sector clients to build next-generation secure architectures, AI-powered platforms, and automation workflows. Symosis is launching a new AI Division focused on building AI platforms, enterprise-grade RAG systems, and multi-domain AI tools. This internship is part of that foundational team. Role: AI Engineer Intern (Unpaid) This is an opportunity to work directly with the Head of Symosis AI Division on real enterprise and public-sector projects. You will help build: ✔ Generative AI-powered tools • Production RAG systems • AI automation for enterprises • Minimal AI platform components • AI agents for workflow automation • Domain-specific security/compliance AI systems If you want serious hands-on work building real AI systems, this is the role. What You Will Work On You will contribute to a variety of fast-moving projects, including: 1. Generative AI Engineering • Building LLM pipelines (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Llama) • Prompt engineering & evaluation • Structured output enforcement 2. Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) • Chunking strategies • Embedding pipelines • Vector DBs (Chroma, Pinecone, Weaviate) • Query rewriting + ranking 3. AI Agents • Multi-step task automation • Tool calling systems • Workflow orchestration • Integrating LLMs with APIs & external systems 4. AI Tools & Platform Components • AI for security/compliance workflows • Document intelligence • Policy/controls mapping • Risk summarization & audit automation 5. Engineering Foundations • FastAPI / Flask microservices • Python engineering • Basic frontend work (React optional) • Cloud deployment basics (Azure preferred) Who We’re Looking For This is ideal for someone who: • Is early in their AI career but highly motivated • Has built personal projects with LLMs or RAG • Wants to work at a startup-like pace • Learns extremely fast • Can commit 10–20 hours per week • Is interested in long-term growth into a full-time role Required Skills You should have at least basic familiarity with: Must-Have • Python • LangChain / LlamaIndex (or similar) • Vector databases • LLM API usage • Building at least one AI project end-to-end Nice to Have • FastAPI • Azure OpenAI / Azure Cognitive Search • AI agent frameworks • React basics • Cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP) • Security interest (not required but a plus) What You Get Even though the role is unpaid, you get: • Strong potential for a paid full-time offer as the division grows • Direct mentorship from the Head of the AI Division • Real-world exposure to enterprise + public-sector AI projects • Experience building real AI systems that ship to clients • A strong portfolio of AI tools, agents, and platform features • Opportunity to be early foundational contributor to a new AI practice • Letter of recommendation + LinkedIn endorsement upon successful completion Growth Path If you perform well, you may be considered for: • Full-time AI Engineer (Paid) • Founding AI Engineer for Symosis AI Division
