Sure Steel, Inc. is seeking a dynamic Construction Recruiter specializing in skilled trades within the construction industry. The Construction Recruiter will be responsible for identifying, recruiting, and placing skilled trades professionals’ roles to support our projects. This role will be essential in upholding Sure Steel's values of integrity, safety, and continuous improvement by ensuring a high standard of candidate selection and placement to meet the project requirements across various locations. The Construction Recruiter will play a critical role in sourcing, attracting, and hiring skilled tradespeople and construction professionals for our projects located throughout the United States. This position requires extensive travel to project sites and collaboration with field teams to meet hiring needs and support project staffing requirements. For this role, travel will be required. Key Responsibilities: 1. Talent Sourcing and Acquisition: Conduct proactive sourcing activities to identify and attract qualified candidates for field positions, including welders, fabricators, ironworkers, crane operators and other construction professionals. Utilize a variety of recruitment methods, including job fairs, trade shows, industry associations, and local outreach efforts, to build a pipeline of talent in target regions. Establish relationships with local trade schools, vocational programs, and workforce development organizations to identify potential candidates and promote career opportunities in the construction industry. Ensure all recruitment activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, including equal employment opportunities and confidentiality agreements. 2. Candidate Screening and Selection: Screen and assess candidate qualifications, skills, and experience through phone interviews, in-person meetings, and hands-on evaluations, ensuring alignment with job requirements and project needs. Coordinate and facilitate on-site interviews and assessments in collaboration with project managers and field supervisors, providing timely feedback and recommendations for candidate selection. Conduct thorough reference checks and background screenings to verify candidate credentials, work history, and qualifications prior to employment. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of candidate interactions, job orders, and placement activities within the company’s applicant tracking system. 3. Onboarding and Integration: Work closely with HR and field operations teams to facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including completion of required paperwork, orientation sessions, and safety training. Work closely with Project Managers to understand their needs and provide tailored recruitment solutions, ensuring timely placement of candidates. Serve as a point of contact for new hires, addressing questions, concerns, and issues related to employment, benefits, and company policies throughout the onboarding process. Match candidates with appropriate job opportunities based on their skills, experience, and the project requirements. 3. Relationship Building and Networking: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including project managers, field supervisors, subcontractors, and local labor unions, to support recruitment efforts and enhance collaboration. Attending project meetings, site visits, and industry events to network with construction professionals, identify staffing needs, and promote Sure Steel, Inc. as an employer of choice in the construction industry. Act as a brand ambassador for Sure Steel, Inc., representing the company professionally and positively in all interactions with external stakeholders and the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 4+ years of proven experience in construction recruiting, or the skilled trades industry. Strong understanding of various construction trades and industry-specific requirements. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with candidates, clients, and internal teams. Proficiency in using recruitment software and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). Preferred experience with Paycom. High level of integrity, professionalism, and alignment with Sure Steel, Inc.'s core values. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
