Operate power equipment to pick, pack, and prepare store orders for shipment while maintaining safety and accuracy standards.
High school diploma or GED with at least one month of related experience or training, ability to operate power equipment safely, basic math skills, and ability to follow instructions and complete paperwork.
Working Hours: 7A-3:30PM (M-F) Temp to Hire Position Pay: $21.00 hr. Job Overview - Material Handler -Shipping & Receiving . Operates basic power equipment (electric pallet, walkie rider, sit-down forklift, stand-up forklift) in a safe and efficient manner to pick and process store orders on a daily basis. · Fills store orders by picking orders according to section number, packing items into cartons and stacking them in a manner that minimizes shipping damage, entering items into scan gun, and completing necessary paperwork. · Documents the shipment of hazardous materials by labeling cartons correctly and completing necessary paperwork. · Prepares orders for shipment by: preparing trucks for shipments; palletizing and wrapping orders; loading pallets and pieces into trucks; placing packing list in last skid; and completing necessary paperwork. · Maintains current department accuracy and efficiency standards and follows department standard operating procedures. · Maintains a safe work environment by working in a safe manner, following current Distribution safety rules, and maintaining a clean work area by breaking down cardboard, picking up loose trash or boards, and keeping carts clean. · Completing any additional tasks or duties designated by the Distribution Center Supervisor. · Assists the Receiving Department with processing, stocking, and replenishing stock. · Participates in training new employees in Material Handler's duties by modeling duties and answering questions. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); at least one month related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
