Agency Adult Correction Division Operations Job Classification Title Administrative Associate II (S) Position Number 60067202 Grade NC02 About Us The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters! Description of Work Salary Range: $31,200 - $49,340 This position is located at Roanoke River Correctional Institution in Halifax County which consist of a medium and minimum custody prison facility housing 1,038 male offenders. The position serves as a record clerk for offender records and maintains a variety of records and documents using a systematic filing system. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Communications with other staff and members of the general public in verbal and written form and interaction with criminal offenders in meeting daily and monthly deadlines will be required. Must be able to operate various office machines such as copiers, fax machines, scanner, and personal computer and use various computer software (MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook Email). This position handles confidential and sensitive information for inclusion in offender records and correspondence. Work may require the use of a variety of manual or automated office systems which are used to establish, retrieve, verify, research, update and/or authorize processing actions. Must be able to plan work accordingly, understand directives, and carry out both oral and written instructions. This position provides secretarial/clerical support to the programs section. This position will retrieve data from various DAC automated systems and is responsible for scheduling weekly offender contact and video visitations and entering visitation applications. Management Preference: • Documented composition and communication skills (written and oral) • Documented proficiency in Microsoft Office programs This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits Note to Current State Employees: The salary grade for this position is NC02. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity.
