Full Description

Hi there :) Thanks for checking in to find out about our open position. We´ll provide as much information as possible, but please feel free to reach us if you have further questions. We´ll be happy to see your application, even if there are skills you don't quite master! About Us At South Geeks, we connect top-performing LATAM engineers and data professionals with innovative global teams. For more than 8 years, we’ve built long-term partnerships grounded in technical excellence, cultural alignment, and a people-first approach. We take care of the people who take care of our clients—so you can build meaningful, high-impact work. About the Client Our client is a fast-growing analytics consulting company helping organizations modernize their data ecosystems, elevate business intelligence, and make decisions rooted in high-quality insights. They work closely with executive teams to build scalable data foundations that support strategic growth across the business. About the Role We’re looking for a Databricks Architect to serve as the project's first technical hire in the data/BI domain. This is a high-visibility, strategic position where you’ll architect the analytics foundation, shape data practices, and work directly with leadership to bring data-driven decision-making to life. You’ll own everything from pipelines to dashboard strategy—laying the groundwork for a world-class data ecosystem. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines in Databricks for clean, reliable data processing. • Build Power BI dashboards for executive audiences, translating strategy into clear visual insights. • Collaborate with analysts, stakeholders, and leadership to understand requirements and deliver actionable solutions. • Develop real-time or frequent-refresh data processes that support timely decision-making. • Optimize and maintain existing dashboards and pipelines for performance, accuracy, and usability. • Implement automated reporting workflows, including refresh scheduling, monitoring, and reliability. • Support and maintain cloud data infrastructure (storage, compute, data models) with a focus on scalability, governance, and security. • Serve as a bridge between business/leadership and technical teams, translating business needs into platform capabilities and translating technical possibilities back into business value. • Establish and champion foundational data/BI practices—including data modeling, metadata, documentation, and pipeline design—as the first technical hire in this area. What You Need to Succeed • Expertise with Databricks (ETL/ELT pipelines, transformation, data processing). • Strong experience building Power BI dashboards and data models. • Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational or cloud data warehouses. • Ability to work independently, set technical direction, and collaborate with executive-level stakeholders. • Excellent communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical audiences. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset. • Experience working in fully remote environments. Nice-to-Have • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), especially Azure data services. • Programming skills in Python or Scala. • Familiarity with other BI tools (Tableau, Looker). • Experience with data governance, data cataloging, or metadata management. • Prior experience collaborating across multiple time zones. Our Team We strive to create an inspiring and growth-oriented environment where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered. We promote both personal and professional development, with individualized support for your needs and concerns. We aim to build a space where everyone can thrive. Work Arrangement This position is 100% remote and open to candidates across Latin America only. Availability from 7 AM to 2 PM EST is required to align with executive leadership and global team meetings. Outside of these core hours, you have flexibility. What We Offer • Long-term projects with global clients. • Competitive USD compensation. • Paid Time Off (PTO). • English lessons and technical training. • Career coaching and mentorship. • Work-from-home & training reimbursements.
