Summary Develops, oversees and improves processes for plant maintenance, cleaning, basic repairs and pest control for buildings and property. Level II Entry-level position. Provides quality oversight, support and expertise for facility maintenance and cleaning. Level III Intermediate-level position. Develops, oversees, and improves processes through observation, investigation, and evaluation of plant maintenance and repairs. Level IV Advanced-level position with advanced troubleshooting skills. Able to inspect, repair, and maintain the electrical, plumbing, roofing, compressed air systems, lighting, and HVAC related systems. Responsibilities • Keeps property clean and in orderly condition. • Inspects and evaluates repairs to property or equipment to determine the type of work required. • Identifies and communicates with management or consultants the need for repairs. • Requisitions supplies and equipment for repairs, replacement, cleaning, and maintenance duties. • Understands waste and water disposal procedures. Follows safety principles for the use of chemicals. Knowledge And Abilities Interprets instructions, both written and oral. Works in a team with co-workers to resolve work issues—knowledge of basic shop math. Forklift certification preferred but not required. Able to communicate effectively in English. Requirements Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree required, previous work experience in manufacturing or a facilities setting preferred. Physical Demands Must be able to exert push force up to 50 pounds occasionally, must have good eye sight and hand dexterity, and able to identify and distinguish colors. Work Environment Within safety guidelines, there will be exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, oils/solvents, fumes, and odors that may affect the eyes, ears, nose, throat and/or skin.
