The Logistics Specialist is responsible for maintaining adequate inventory levels and ensuring timely delivery of materials to clients. They will also manage the collection and delivery of samples from clients to labs and interact with logistics providers.
An associate degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required, along with 3 or more years of experience in logistics or purchasing. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in MS Office are also necessary.

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for ensuring that adequate inventory of supplies are maintained to ensure we can satisfy the specimen shipping needs of our clients. The Logistics Specialist will ensure the timely delivery of material to clients and manage the collection and deliver of sample from the client’s location to our labs. They will also interact with national logistics providers such as FedEx and UPS as well as with courier organizations to help establish and update services as needed, be involved in the contracting process and initiate onboarding and offboarding of these service providers. Duties/Responsibilities Establish and maintain maximum and minimum inventory consumables levels Coordinate with sales team to successfully onboard new clients ensuring that adequate supplies are shipped to the client’s site on time Monitors and tracks shipments to ensure on time deliveries Works with carriers to troubleshoot delivery issues in real time Coordinates courier services to ensure pickup schedules are maintained Tracks all shipments of specimens from client’s site to our labs and works with shipping carriers to troubleshoot slow, late, or missing shipments Works with clients with special shipping needs May perform other related tasks as needed Investigates shipping options for new clients or markets and makes recommendations to senior management on best approaches to service them Initiates rate negotiations with providers in order to ensure we’re getting the best pricing possible Required Skills/Abilities: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Strong knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel Proficient with Google workplace or MS Office Must be able to be self-directed, and self-motivated Must have strong organizational skills Great interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills Education & Experience: Associate degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field of study 3 or more years’ experience in the logistics/purchasing field OR any acceptable combination of education, certification, and experience.
