Overview Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Graphic Design Manager to be based remotely. Responsibilities Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Proposal & Pursuit Graphic Leadership (Primary Focus) Lead the design, layout, and production of graphics for all major RFQ/RFP proposals across water, wastewater, transit, energy, heavy civil, and climate-resilience markets. Develop compelling visual storytelling elements including infographics, process diagrams, schedules, maps, renderings, organization charts, and technical illustrations. Ensure all proposal graphics clearly communicate Shimmick’s differentiators, collaborative delivery approach, project understanding, and win themes. Manage graphic workflows, deadlines, resource allocation, and quality control for simultaneous pursuits across multiple divisions. Partner with the Proposal Team and Subject Matter Experts to translate complex ideas into clear, visually engaging content. Maintain consistency with Shimmick’s brand standards, voice, and visual identity across all proposal submissions. Brand & Marketing Support Work closely with Marketing/Communications to support corporate brand strategy. Maintain and evolve Shimmick’s visual brand guidelines, templates, and asset libraries. Support the creation of corporate marketing materials, presentations, brochures, social media graphics, event displays, and internal communications. Help build a cohesive brand identity across digital and print platforms, ensuring consistency company-wide. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with proposal leadership to align visuals with strategy and messaging. Coordinate with division leadership to understand needs, workflows, and branding priorities. Support executive leadership in producing board-level materials and important external presentations. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Business/Marketing or related field. 6+ years of professional graphic design experience. Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). Strong portfolio demonstrating layout design, infographic development, and brand consistency. Proven experience supporting proposals (AEC industry strongly preferred). Ability to work under tight deadlines with excellent project management skills. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting design-build, CMAR, or other collaborative delivery proposal graphics. Familiarity with construction, engineering, or related technical industries. Experience developing company-wide brand systems or corporate visual identities. Skill in PowerPoint presentation design at an executive level. Experience mentoring or leading a distributed design team. This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. The salary range for this position is between $120,000 - $150,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.
