Organization: E. Warren Development Corporation (EWDC) Location: Detroit, MI (East Warren Corridor) Reports To: Director of Operations Works Closely With: Director of Programs, Kitchen Manager, Executive Director Salary: $65 - $80 / hour Position Summary: The Grants Manager leads the full lifecycle of the organization’s grant process—from identifying opportunities and developing proposals to managing awards and reporting outcomes. This role ensures that all grant activities align with our mission and values, engage staff across departments, and maintain transparent, trusting relationships with funders. Key Responsibilities: Grant Research and Strategy: • Identify and research new grant opportunities that align with organizational goals. • Review eligibility, guidelines, and deadlines to assess fit. • Maintain a tracker of all grant opportunities, submissions, and communications. • Recommend which opportunities to pursue based on capacity and strategic alignment. Proposal Development • Coordinate proposal timelines and submission schedules • Gather input from staff to ensure proposals reflect program needs and impact. • Collaborate with the Finance team to create clear and realistic budgets. • Write, edit, and prepare strong, timely grant applications. • Submit proposals and required materials by funder deadlines. Grant Award Management • Review and execute grant agreements and maintain accurate records. • Communicate award details and requirements to staff and leadership. • Set up systems to track spending, deliverables, and deadlines. • Support staff in implementing grant-funded projects in line with approved budgets and objectives. Reporting and Fund Compliance • Track expenditures and project outcomes throughout the grant period. • Collect data, stories, and results for reporting purposes. • Prepare and submit accurate progress and final reports on time. • Communicate proactively with funders about project updates or changes. • Ensure compliance with all funder and organizational requirements. Relationship Building and Collaboration • Maintain ongoing communication with funders to build long-term partnerships. • Work closely with the Executive Director for strategic guidance and final approvals. • Partner with Finance and Operations to ensure accurate budgeting and reporting. • Collaborate with program staff to capture impact, lessons learned, and success stories. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, or a related field, OR, equivalent experience (three to five years of experience in grant writing and management). • Strong writing, editing, and project management skills. • Experience developing and monitoring budgets and reports. • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. • Proficiency with tools such as Google Workspace, Excel, and grant tracking software. Work Environment This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) with a flexible schedule and the option to work in a hybrid arrangement. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet deadlines, and limited travel may occur for funder meetings or events. About E. Warren Development Corporation: E.
