Pay Range: $23.36 - $24.86 Position Summary: This Position will be scheduled to work Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, for a max of 30 hours per week. The Sanitation Department General Labor Sanitor primary responsibility involves upkeep for environmental schedule cleaning, task assignments and follow-up to insure completion and adequacy of the sanitation program. This person needs to be team oriented and a good communicator, displaying a positive attitude in all areas of work quality, work ethics, and trust. Many tasks will require the applicant to be self-motivated and able to work independently. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Always be in full PPE compliance. Assist Sanitation Leads with scheduled projects and other daily tasks Must be able to manage his or her time properly in order to insure completion of all scheduled tasks and all additional tasks assigned by management. Monitor production finish times, establish sanitation needs and prioritize a cleaning schedule on a daily basis. Learn and support Master Sanitation Schedule program Perform Plant Sanitation and Period Sanitation Audits as required. Assist in Maintaining PPE and cleaning supply inventories. All other duties assigned by supervisor QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS: The candidate will ideally have One to three years of plant production and sanitation experience. Language Skills: The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, SOP’s, SSOP’s, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Possess the ability to speak effectively with suppliers (Ecolab) and/or associates of the organization. Mathematical Skills: The ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages. Reasoning Ability: The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited information exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. The ability to troubleshoot, apply judgment and implement solutions to problems. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and walk, use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls. Talk, hear, taste, and smell. The employee must regularly move, or lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift more than 50 pounds. Also, lift 25 pounds above shoulder height Reach with hands and arms above shoulder height. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus. The employee may be required to use a scissor lift (upon qualification) climb ladders and/or balance. Work Environment: Is exposed to wet and humid conditions, outside weather conditions and vibration. May have to work with, or be exposed to lab or cleaning chemicals requiring personal protective equipment i.e. goggles, gloves, rubber boots, etc. The noise level in the work environment may be loud and requires wearing hearing protection. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. Work Schedules: You will be expected to work weekends in order to meet the needs of the plant and Sanitation department.
