Brief Description Job Summary: Leads or assists on the execution of various engineering projects at the Company’s facilities to ensure on time, on budget completion. Projects may involve equipment installations or upgrades, infrastructure improvements and building expansions. Key Responsibilities • Assist in conceptual development of manufacturing projects; analyze, evaluate and plan methods to achieve solutions to technical problems. • Develop the specifications required for any equipment required for the project; identify potential suppliers, prepare RFQs as needed and coordinate with appropriate staff. • Validate technical capabilities of the equipment or process to ensure it addresses the operational need of the facility. • Develop or assist in developing project scope, budget and schedule estimates. • Prepare or assist in the preparation of Capital Authorization Requests (CARs) when required with effective project explanation, justification, and ROI calculation. • Maintain project status in appropriate project tracking software; provide periodic updates to management, identifying risks and roadblocks to budget adherence and timely project completion. • Coordinate with other staff as needed, including plant personnel and other engineers, to ensure completion of all assigned projects. • Comply with all safety and environmental rules and regulations during project execution; ensure equipment operates consistent with regulatory requirements. • Validate all projects are completed in accordance with initial technical and business requirements. Food Safety, Quality And General • Take immediate action or report any activity which may negatively impact food safety or quality issues related to Company products. • Work in accordance with all Company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety, quality, product safety and legality, security, and regulatory compliance as applicable; communicate and ensure all outside resources follow all Company rules. Required Skills And Competencies • Strong knowledge base in engineering and mechanical aspects of manufacturing equipment and operations. • Capable of effective communication and teamwork to enhance project coordination/execution. • Knowledge of manufacturing environment including current compliance requirements for safety. • Excellent problem solving skills in an industrial equipment environment. • Demonstrated use of effective documentation for schedule and budget management. • Possess good attention to detail and follow up. Education And Experience • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. • Minimum 8+ years of experience in engineering project execution. • PMP certification a plus.
