Job Title: Coordinator Location: RWJ New Brunswick Department: Pediatric ECMO Req#: 0000188591 Status: Full-Time Shift: Day Pay Range: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 Annual Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated annual salary range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Responsible for clinical and administrative duties related to the ECMO program, Coordinates daily operations of the ECMO program Provides clinical supervision of the ECMO specialists while they are caring for ECMO patients Provides direct patient care for ECMO patients as needed Develops and implements procedural guidelines for the ECMO program Oversees setup and priming of ECMO pump Collaborates with ECMO directors and physicians to ensure thorough communication and quality performance among team members Assesses and maintains competencies of ECMO staff Monitors ECMO program budget Determine ECMO equipment and supply needs and works with materials management to ensure their availability at all times Reviews and collects clinical data related to ECMO patients Maintains ELSO registry and reporting documentation Collaborates with nursing leadership to coordinate ECMO specialist coverage schedule Actively works to build the ECMO program Collaborates with ECMO physicians to ensure thorough communication and quality performance among team members Call hours to cover consultations Development Management of Personnel Trains and mentors ECMO specialists, including coordinating ongoing education Monitors and supervises ECMO specialists care as needed Coordinates with unit director to participate in the annual performance review process for each ECMO specialist Data Management Reviews and analyzes clinical data related to ECMO and conducts quality improvement initiatives as appropriate Maintains ELSO registry and reporting documentation Conducts and supporting clinical research projects Professional Growth Attends formal educational seminars classes to enhance knowledge base on both administrative and clinical issues, Acts as a Mentor to ECMO specialists, Presents educational seminars to staff as appropriate Actively participates in state and national professional organizations Demonstrates awareness of safety, security, life safety, emergency preparedness and utility and equipment management policies competencies, Adheres to Standard Precautions Adheres to Safety and Infection Control policies Attends mandatory in services Helps maintain a safe and clean patient/work environment Follows incident reporting procedures Ensures that appropriate standards of practice follow corporate compliance guidelines, and that results of accreditation surveys and licensure reviews by NJSDOH and TJC are satisfactory, Acts in an ethical and legal manner and assures that all actions are in the best interest of both patients and the hospital, The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary: EDUCATION Licensed to practice as a professional nurse in the State of New Jersey, Baccalaureate degree in nursing required, Master s Preferred National Certification expected in required specialty, within 1 year of hire EXPERIENCE At least 3 years of NICU Level III or PICU experience, 3-5 years ECMO Specialist Experience Prior experience as an ECMO Coordinator preferred INTERRELATIONSHIPS Effective interpersonal skills for interactions with ECMO staff, physicians, nursing, patients and administrative staff PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS A physical condition is required that permits reaching and mobility around the entire institution, Intact vision and speech are required as well as hearing sufficient to perform essential job responsibilities, In addition, must be able to function under rapidly changing and stressful conditions, ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Exposure to blood, excrement and odors, Exposure to infectious and communicable diseases,
