Mechanical Designer • Job description SUMMARY: If you are organized, detail-oriented, and ready to apply your skills this is an excellent career opportunity. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to operate in our AutoCAD 2025 software in the design of industrial mechanical equipment for the metal forming industry. This is an exciting opportunity for somebody who likes to create and design products from initial concept through testing. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Create detail designs from initial concept through the manufacturing process to meet required specifications from customers. • Create layouts, assemblies, details, bills of material and other related drawings and documents. • Formulate tolerance stack-ups; establish fits and tolerances consistent with sound design practices and engineering standards. • Prepare assembly and disassembly instructions for assembly drawings and technical manuals. • Apply drafting standards and procedures; while maintaining knowledge of current developments in product design; and recommend changes where appropriate. • Communicate with customers as needed. • Collaborate with production staff to verify assembly and testing of completed machines for shipment. QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or 4 or more years Machine Design Experience • Must be proficient in AutoCAD, knowledge of SolidWorks is a plus. • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as mechanical drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Able to take a creative and analytical approach to problem-solving • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. • Able to use hand, power tools and stand or sit for extended periods. • Must be organized and able to work independently or with a team. • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. • Strong PC and Microsoft office 365 skills. • Excellent communications and organizational skills.
