Full Description

Coder is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Product Operations Engineer to focus on owning data and reporting infrastructure for our Product & Engineering organizations. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in developing solutions for visualizing cross-platform data in accordance with ongoing organizational needs and ad hoc requests. You will collaborate closely with Product and Engineering leaders and managers as well as stakeholders across Coder orgs (e.g., Marketing, Revenue, etc.) to optimize internal operations and empower them with reliable and timely data insights. You will also write SQL queries, build dashboards, and modify our in-product telemetry engine to collect additional usage data. This role requires technical acumen to build and maintain data integrations, script reports, and cultivate internal relationships to source and translate business requirements.What you’ll do hereDesign, build, and maintain data integrations between various internal systems to ensure a unified and accessible data landscapeEngineer and/or script custom reports across disparate systems based on requirements gathered and plans developed with your management and Product & Engineering leadersPartner with Product & Engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to understand data requirements, develop efficient operational processes and visualizations, and deliver impactful dashboards and reports for both recurring and immediate needsDevelop and manage internal data infrastructure and tools to ensure easy access and usability of relevant data for Product & Engineering teams and other stakeholdersReceive and execute ad hoc telemetry and reporting requests from internal stakeholders, prioritizing based on urgency and impactCreate and maintain comprehensive documentation for data integrations, internal data processes, data dictionaries, and best practices, including visualization standards. Promote standardization across teamsCreate an automation to send Slack alerts when new Coder deployments become active in telemetryAnalyze telemetry data to help the CEO make business decisionsWhat we’re looking forBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience3+ years of experience in data operations, data engineering, business intelligence, or similar role, with a focus on internal data management, integration, and visualizationStrong understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing conceptsProven ability to design, build, and maintain data integrations using various methods and toolsStrong scripting skills (e.g., SQL, Python) for data manipulation, analysis, and report generationProficiency in SQL and experience with data manipulation and analysisProven experience in designing and building effective data visualizations using relevant tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Grafana)Experience with data processing and storage technologies (e.g., cloud-based data warehouses, data lakes)Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with a strong aptitude for visual storytelling with data for diverse audiencesExcellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with and influence stakeholders across different teamsStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization to understand data needs and present findings visually and verbally.
