High school diploma or GED, typing speed of 45 WPM, effective English communication, and ability to obtain required telecommunicator certifications.
About the position Responsibilities • Receive and triage emergency and non-emergency calls using complex communication equipment. • Dispatch emergency responders based on the nature of the calls received. • Maintain accurate records of events and written logs for legal proceedings. • Effectively communicate in English over the telephone and maintain a positive customer service attitude. • Multi-task by using a phone, computer, and radio simultaneously while retaining information. • Complete and maintain required certifications such as CPR, EMD, and Oregon Basic Telecommunicator. Requirements • High school diploma or GED. • Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute with high accuracy. • Ability to communicate effectively in English over the telephone. • Ability to achieve and maintain Basic Telecommunicator and Emergency Medical Dispatch certification through the State of Oregon. • Successfully complete all phases of pre-employment testing.
