This role involves hands-on work with flight hardware, test fixtures, and data acquisition systems to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with strict aerospace standards. You’ll contribute to the design, testing, and deployment of advanced technologies such as power distribution, embedded monitoring and control, power conversion, lighting, and camera-based systems—core innovations that support the next generation of spaceflight. Responsibilities • Perform environmental testing of aerospace mechanisms following established procedures, including static load, thermal vacuum, benchtop operation, separation, shock, and vibration tests. • Operate flight hardware and test fixtures using data acquisition systems. • Attach, remove, and inspect components on aerospace hardware. • Conduct post-test inspections of mechanical and electrical components. • Perform routine maintenance and calibration on test fixtures and related equipment. • Contribute ideas for process improvement and test efficiency. • Support investigations related to test anomalies or non-conformances. Ideal Experience • High school diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant hands-on experience. • Familiarity with aerospace assembly and inspection tools (e.g., torque wrenches, load cells, feeler gauges, calipers, multimeters). • Experience writing or assisting with technical work instructions related to environmental or functional testing. • Working knowledge of quality management systems such as AS9100. • Excellent manual dexterity and ability to handle small components (e.g., fasteners as small as #0-80). • Proficiency with electronic test equipment such as DMMs, power supplies, and DAQs. Desired Skills • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical understanding with the ability to follow detailed procedures. • Experience working in an aerospace cleanroom environment (preferred). • Understanding of advanced electronic circuitry. • Quick problem-solving skills and resourcefulness in prototype or test situations. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Ability to comply with U.S. export control laws and regulations.
