Director of Quality Department: Quality Location: Spring Hill, TN The Director of Quality is responsible for overseeing and guiding the development and implementation of the quality programs ensuring the quality of our product and its proper regulatory compliance for Prinova Nutrition Springhill, TN Main Duties & Responsibilities • Develop policy and maintain the Quality System for manufacturing, packaging, warehouse and distribution operations; • Ensure compliance with established regulations and customer requirements, including CFR110,111,117, FSMA, BRC, Organic, Halal, Kosher, NSF, NSF-Sport, MSC, Gluten Free, SEDEX, ISO17025 and SSCI. • Manage internal FSQ systems and infrastructure to support company growth and provide excellent quality results, as measured by QA metrics (e.g. customer complaint frequency, product evaluation scores and audit scores) and other formal and informal feedback. • Provide direction in the implementation of systems and processes to endure safety in all laboratory activities; • Create infrastructure, provide vision and direction, ensuring optimal efficiency in the testing, reporting, and final approval processes for laboratory; • Ensure the timely and accurate testing and recording of all data; • Support Quality Management System for laboratories based on ISO 17025;2005 scheme; • Maintain quality through internal and external inspection of raw materials and finished items purchased, as well as production operations and processes; • Direct regulatory affairs and compliance for company; • Provide technical guidance and communications to other functional departments, business partners and regulatory agencies as required; • Prepare and/or review documentation required for regulatory submissions; • Prepare and/or review documentation for all new formulas and master records; • Advance strategic plans including but not limited to sanitation, allergen, HACCP, microbiological testing, EMP, weight control, product recall, company conducted audits, third party audits, customer audits and self-audits • Actively lead initiatives toward continuous improvement, training, mentoring and/or coaching of staff in the quality organization; • Oversee Quality Assurance and Regulatory teams; • Recruit, manage, develop and assess performance of directly reporting staff; • Train all employees in respect to quality issues; • Follow and enforce cGMP guidelines and processes as established in department SOPs; • Perform other duties as deemed necessary. • This position is responsible for being PCQI trained quality specialist, food safety / food defense leader, HACCP team leader, and food safety culture leader. Requirements And Skills • Bachelor of Science in science, business or related field; • BS Degree preferably in science; a minimum of 7-10 years of previous FSQR experience preferably with vitamin/mineral premix, sports nutrition, and contract manufacturing; prefer 5-10 years supervisory experience. Have knowledge of raw materials used in the manufacturer of sports nutrition • 10-15+ year’s equivalent experience; • 5-10 years supervisory experience • Strong knowledge of FDA and cGMP regulatory guidelines and applications; • Knowledge of Part 111 and 117 of FDA Code of federal regulations; • FSQR experience preferably with vitamin/mineral premix, sports nutrition, and contract manufacturing; prefer 5-10 years supervisory experience • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; • Good organizational skills with great attention to detail; • PC literate with intermediate knowledge of applicable software applications. • Ability to sit and stand for extended hours; • Ability to view a computer screen and type for extended hours; • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.; • Ability to wear any required PPE such as scrubs, hair net, lab coat, and facemask; • Must be able to work around a variation of different smells and aromas; • Other physical requirements include bi-lateral hand and wrist movement and occasional squatting, bending, and twisting; • Ability to adjust work schedule as business needs require.
