Powered by People – Reach Manager, Full-Time (2026) Location: Remote (Texas-based) Reports to: Organizing Director About Powered by People Powered by People (PxP) is a Texas-based grassroots organization working to register, engage, and mobilize voters across the state through the power of volunteer leadership and relational organizing. We believe meaningful change begins with relationships — and that every person can move their community closer to justice through action, integrity, and connection. About the Role The Reach Manager is the backbone of PxP’s digital volunteer network — maintaining our relational organizing tools, communications systems, and data infrastructure that keep thousands of volunteers connected to voters across Texas. Rather than managing organizers or leading field programs, this role focuses on the technical and operational side of volunteer engagement: ensuring that volunteers can use Reach confidently, that communication plans and scripts are well-timed and effective, and that our data stays clean, secure, and actionable. The Reach Manager develops and updates messaging scripts, maintains the statewide texting calendar, and manages volunteer-to-voter ratios to balance outreach across the program. They monitor texting performance, create and refine action cards, identify and resolve carrier or deliverability issues, and provide hands-on troubleshooting and office hours for volunteers using Reach. This position is ideal for someone who’s equal parts detail-oriented and people-focused — someone who loves solving problems, improving systems, and helping volunteers succeed. The Reach Manager ensures every text, every message, and every data point contributes to a well-run, secure, and volunteer-friendly relational organizing program. Key Responsibilities Program Operations & Communication • Manage all aspects of PxP’s Reach relational organizing program, including user setup, engagement tracking, and volunteer communications. • Create and update volunteer- and voter-sourced messaging scripts for relational outreach, ensuring they are accurate, relevant, and reflect PxP’s tone. • Develop and maintain a comprehensive texting calendar, determining what to send, how frequently, and coordinating across volunteer-to-voter, reminder, and internal messaging needs. • Work with the organizing and data teams to assign and maintain a balanced voter-to-volunteer ratio (approx. 50 voters per volunteer) to ensure equitable distribution of outreach workload. • Monitor communication trends and performance to identify opportunities for improved timing, targeting, or message design. • Craft and maintain Reach action cards and relational contact templates to streamline ongoing volunteer outreach. Technical Support & Troubleshooting • Serve as the primary contact for Reach technical support, providing quick, clear resolutions for volunteers and staff. • Host regular Reach office hours for volunteers to troubleshoot login, syncing, tagging, or communication issues. • Track and identify carrier blocking or deliverability issues, and work with PxP’s tech and data partners to resolve them promptly. • Coordinate closely with the Training Team to share updates, provide system changes, and ensure training materials reflect current processes. • Communicate updates, fixes, and new features clearly to staff and volunteers through Slack or email updates. • Data Integrity, Privacy & Maintenance • Collaborate with the PxP Data Team to manage Reach data quality, ensuring records are up-to-date, consistent, and properly tagged. • Establish and maintain data quality controls and review processes for uploads, merges, and deletions. • Support the development and upkeep of PxP’s Reach dashboard, monitoring activity, voter adds, and message outcomes. • Uphold PxP’s commitment to data ethics and privacy, ensuring that all voter and volunteer information is treated as secure, confidential, and handled with integrity. Feedback, Communication & Coordination • Receive and respond to volunteer and organizer feedback, ensuring that questions and issues are resolved quickly and with clear follow-up. • Identify recurring issues or bottlenecks and propose solutions to the Organizing Director and data team. • Support clear, transparent communication between staff and volunteers regarding Reach updates, best practices, and ongoing improvements. • Participate in weekly check-ins and coordination calls to align goals, share metrics, and assess program performance. Qualifications • Deep commitment to PxP’s mission and belief in grassroots, volunteer-powered change. • Experience managing a Reach-based or relational organizing program, or comparable digital organizing tool. • Strong technical aptitude with experience troubleshooting app or texting-platform issues. • Skilled at writing and editing relational outreach scripts and volunteer communications. • Strong organizational skills and comfort managing complex calendars, schedules, and data systems. • Experience maintaining data accuracy, privacy, and compliance standards. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to explain technical processes clearly to non-technical users. • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Slack, Mobilize, and other digital organizing platforms. • Self-motivated, solution-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. • Willingness to work evenings and weekends to match volunteer activity times.
