Benefits of a full-time Assistant Store Team Leader: • Health, Vision & Dental insurance • Weekly Paychecks • Paid Time Off (PTO) • 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan • Flexible Spending Program • Employee Discount • Career Advancement Opportunities What You'll Do: • Lead by example, living our Paw Print core values every day • Partner with the Store Team Leader to train, coach, and develop team members • Drive performance in neighbor engagement, sales, and overall store operations • Accurately complete reports, paperwork, and POS transactions • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment, ensuring animals are well cared for and policies are followed • Support community engagement by building partnerships with local rescue groups and charities • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new team members What We're Looking For: • Genuine passion for pets with interest in pet care and nutrition • Strong communication and leadership skills with attention to detail • 2+ years of retail experience in a leadership role • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment • Flexibility to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays as needed • Ability to safely operate all store equipment (including forklift) LH Mercantile, LLC is a franchisee of Pet Supplies Plus that currently has 16 locations throughout the Chicago suburbs and Northwest Indiana. We offer self-service dog washes and full-service grooming salons as well as provide curbside pickup, delivery/autoship services. We offer an array of pet foods, supplies and accessories for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish and small animals. We're mostly proud of our knowledgeable team, who love pets and are eager to help pet parents.
