Requirements

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a preference for advanced degrees. Licensure as a Physical, Occupational, or Speech Language Therapist is required, along with proficiency in relevant software and a RAC-CT credential within one year of hire.

Full Description

General Purpose Regional Director of Therapy Services-PACS is responsible for the oversight of multiple facility rehabilitation programs, both in-house and contract therapy providers, and mentoring of Directors of Rehabilitation. This includes but is not limited to training new Directors of Rehabilitation, providing recommendations to rehab programs on efficiencies, and operations monitoring to ensure adherence to PACS Therapy Best Practices and Policies and Procedures as well as Medicare guidelines and State Practice Acts. The role does not include providing direct patient care or documentation in patient EMR except during emergent situation and with approval of PACS leadership. The Regional Director of Therapy Services is responsible for implementation of new programs and procedures consistent with regulatory changes and will interface with other regional level nursing and administrative professionals. Essential Duties Visit facilities as needed to support operations and program management Orient and mentor Directors of Rehabilitation and staff as necessary for appropriate patient utilization and treatment plans Review and monitor patient charts and electronic health record systems in Net Health EMR, PCC EMR, and Value Based Care Solutions (Point Right) to facilitate compliance with company policy and Medicare guidelines Attend CSR (Skilled Services Review) facility meetings as well as Triple Check as needed to guide facilities Monitor facility therapy staffing ratios and therapist duties as assigned to ensure adherence to State Board Practice Acts Monitor iQIES Violation Reports for outliers and report to facility and regional team Monitor Value Based Care Solutions (PointRight) for outliers and report to facility and regional team Communicate and reinforce operational compliance best practices and provide education to region facilities Assist facilities in achieving survey excellence by taking part in facility mock surveys as directed by the RVPO, annual state licensing surveys, complaint visits, and assist with plans of correction as needed Assist with review and education learned from CMS reports (Pepper, QM, VBP, 5 Star, QRP) Support administrators and Regional Vice President of Operations in achieving results Complete operational reviews as assigned by PACS Clinical Strategy and Governance Team and provide results to RVPO and PACS Clinical Strategy and Governance Team Provide training and education to facility leaders as assigned by PACS Clinical Strategy and Governance Team and the RVPO Reinforce PACS Therapy Best Practices including Standardized Testing and Annual Screens Assist teams with month-end closeout and Triple Check preparation Support and collaborate on regional initiatives as directed by the RVPO and regional team Support facility in responding to outside 3rd party reviews such as CERTs, ADR’s, ALJ hearings, UPIC defense etc. Report to Chief Compliance Officer any concerns with compliance, including policies around fraud, waste, and abuse or violations of the PACS Code of Conduct Reports facility therapy performance metrics monthly (as determined by the PACS Strategy and Governance Team) Assist administrators with interview and selection process of potential new therapy staff and DOR applicants Support facility Administrator with evaluation and performance improvement plans for Directors of Rehab when requested by RVPO or Administrator Assist with acquisitions transitions and conversion of contract programs to in-house therapy programs Assist with RNA training and certification Assist in oversight and monitoring of therapy consultants and vendors Assist with special projects as assigned by PACS Clinical Strategy and Governance Team Travel by car/plane/or train when necessary to reach assigned destination in a reasonable time frame Maintain confidentiality of company and patient information Supervisory Requirements At the request of Administrators and RVPOs assist in supervision of DORs, Staff Therapists, and other therapy regional support staff/consultants Qualification Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and /or Speech Language Pathology at a minimum. Prefer graduates of Masters or Doctorate Program in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and /or Speech Language Pathology. Proficient in computer skills for Microsoft Office and utilizing software for SharePoint, Net Health, and Point Click Care. Prefer prior regional experience. Requires RAC-CT Credential within 1 year of hire. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Licensed as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist and or Speech Language Therapist. Employee must meet continue education requirements per state practices. Must maintain a license in good standing at all time with the state board. CPR certification. Physical Demands The essential functions of this position require the following physical abilities: Standing and /or walking very frequently. Sitting occasionally. Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and or excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or excess of 20 pounds of force constant to move objects. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling occasionally. Close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception in vision: ability to adjust focus.
