As a Backend Engineer on the Servicing team, you will build and enhance the tools and systems that power customer support and operations. You will develop new features end-to-end and solve complex problems involving large-scale money movement and sensitive financial data.
You should have 8+ years of experience building and shipping backend systems in high-scale environments. A deep understanding of event-driven architecture and microservices is essential, along with familiarity with AI tools and LLM-based workflows.

The Role As a Backend Engineer on the Servicing team at OnePay, you will build and enhance the tools and systems that power our customer support and operations experience across millions of users. What You’ll Do Architect, design, and implement backend services and tooling that support Operations and Customer Servicing teams Develop new features end-to-end, including 0→1 builds that enable scalable servicing workflows Build and maintain clear, thorough documentation to support our growing and remote organization Solve complex problems involving large-scale money movement and sensitive financial data Collaborate with cross-functional partners and external vendors to deliver reliable, secure servicing solutions Integrate AI tools and LLM-powered capabilities into servicing workflows where impactful You Bring 8+ years of experience building and shipping backend systems in high-scale environments Deep understanding of event-driven architecture and microservices Experience leading, mentoring, and demonstrating excellence in execution with limited oversight Familiarity with AI tools, LLM-based workflows, or integrating model-driven features into backend services Drive and proactivity – everyone here is a builder and executor Tools We Use We use Node and TypeScript on the server, leveraging the NestJS framework within a microservice-oriented architecture running on Kubernetes and AWS. On the client side, we build and ship product features for iOS, Android, and web platforms using React Native. While you don’t need experience with our exact stack, familiarity with modern software engineering practices will help you ramp up quickly.
