Why “OktoRocket”? Our solutions help our customers rocket past their goals while bringing together the solutions they need into one platform to do more, quickly and easily. What we are looking for: We’re hiring a Junior QA Automation Engineer to own and grow our automated testing stack. You’ll sit between business and engineering, help us identify edge cases early, and build automation using Playwright, Jest, and .NET test frameworks. Over time, you’ll also take over our Zapier/Zoho automations and gain exposure to DevOps and site reliability work. Company Culture: • Be a self starter: We don’t micro-manage, so we expect you to get after it and be ready to dig in. • Be a team player: We like to have fun together, see everyone succeed, and work through challenges together. • Do good work: We hire and retain people who get fulfillment from doing great work and seeing our customers succeed. • We Value: Hard work, Humor, Integrity, Creativity, and Positivity We are growing rapidly and have an exciting future ahead of us. We need candidates who are ready to jump on board, dig in on day one, and bring your talents to the table. What to expect: The role will work with product and business stakeholders to understand requirements and workflows and translate requirements into testable scenarios and clear acceptance criteria. You will proactively identify edge cases and risk areas before and during implementation and communicate test results and quality risks in business-friendly language. In this role you will inherit and maintain our Zapier, Retool, and Zoho automations. You will add tests and monitoring around key automations to ensure reliability and observability and document workflows so others can understand, extend, and troubleshoot them. Roles and Responsibilities: • Design and implement automated tests for critical user flows and regression scenarios. • Build and maintain end-to-end/UI tests using Playwright. • Create and maintain unit/integration tests for the frontend using Jest. • Implement backend and integration tests using .NET test frameworks (xUnit, NUnit, MSTest, or similar). • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD so they run on every build/deploy. • Improve test stability, speed, and coverage; reduce reliance on ad-hoc verification. • Contribute to a consistent testing strategy: structure, naming conventions, fixtures, test data, tagging, and reporting. • Collaborate with engineering on adding checks and gates into CI/CD pipelines. • Help define quality metrics (test coverage, failure rates, build health) and surface them in dashboards. • Contribute to reliability practices such as smoke checks after deployment, health checks, and basic monitoring/alerting. Skills and Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience). • Experience (projects, internships, or coursework) writing code in C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, or a similar language. • Understanding of core testing concepts (regression, smoke, negative testing, test data, assertions). • Basic familiarity with web applications (HTTP, APIs, frontend vs backend, databases). • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; you naturally think in terms of “what could break?” and identify edge cases. • Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and asking clarifying questions. Career Growth: • Grow from writing tests to owning major parts of the test automation strategy. • Become the internal go-to for Playwright, Jest, .NET testing, and testing best practices. • Take ownership of automation platforms (Zapier, Zoho) and influence how we connect systems and processes. • Develop skills in DevOps and Site Reliability (CI/CD, monitoring, quality gates, release safety). • Influence how we define “done” and “high quality” across teams.
