What You'll Do Key Duties: • Inspect, clean, decontaminate, sort, assemble, and sterilize surgical instrumentation, equipment, and medical devices. • Operate and maintain all sterilizers, washers, and other specialized equipment, performing routine biological and chemical testing. • Prepare and package trays and kits for all surgical specialties ensuring accurate contents and integrity. • Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, biological tests, and instrument inventory, documenting all quality assurance monitoring activities. • Perform routine inspection and testing of instrumentation promptly identifying and reporting any missing or damaged items. • Transport sterilized supplies and equipment to the Operating Room and other patient care areas in a safe and timely manner. What We're Looking For • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. • Experience: One year of experience in a hospital Sterile Reprocessing Department, preferred. • Licensure/Certification: Sterile Reprocessing Tech certification, required. CBSPD, CRCST or CSPDT, required. • Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions to assemble instrument sets and trays. Ability to learn and understand medical terminology. Maintains Sterile Processing Technician certification. Why Choose Novant Health?
