Five+ years relevant experience with at least three years supervisory experience, preferably with an associate degree or higher, strong organizational and analytical skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Description Purpose and function of job. The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing the property’s accounts payable operations, ensuring accurate vendor payments, financial reconciliations, and adherence to company policies and gaming regulatory requirements. This role also supports payroll and general ledger processes as needed to maintain the overall financial integrity of the property. Essential duties and tasks that must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation. • Ensures compliance with all purchasing and accounting programs. • Ensures A/P and related accounting entries are processed accurately and timely. • Ensures daily reports are accurate and issued timely. • Directs and prepares monthly bank account reconciliations. • Directs and prepares monthly general ledger account reconciliations. • Prepares and reviews A/P-related reconciliations and supports the preparation of monthly financial statements. • Adheres to Federal and State tax regulations and Federal labor regulations. • Ensures that Federal and State tax payments, wage attachments, support payments, and 401k contribution payments are remitted in a timely manner and may be responsible for preparation of payroll tax returns. • Directs and prepares monthly journal entries to the General Ledger, and the reconciliation of payroll data to the General Ledger. • Maintains understanding of how payroll, accounts payable and other operations impact the balance sheet, income statement, and account reconciliations. • Reviews and standardizes procedures to maximize efficiency of subordinates. • Assists in interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems. • Performs special projects and provides reports as needed. • Promotes positive public/team member relations. • Oversees administration of Tipped Team Member Participation Agreement, TEPA. • Develops, implements, and monitors processes to ensure consistent high quality, accurate, and efficient processes. • Brings in best practices to maintain the most accurate, legally compliant, and efficient processes. • Establishes and implements systems to conduct regulatory and compliance audits. Key lead to work with IT to develop, assess and roll out new systems and upgrade existing systems. • Analyzes complex pay transactions, identify issues that exist and work with various internal operational teams to identify root causes of accounting system issues, assess risk and implement mitigation plans to minimize or eliminate future occurrence. • Provides clear and consistent communication of key business priorities and project status of major initiatives. • Manages direct report staff to complete projects according to program objectives and key performance indicators. • Manages a high degree of change in a fast paced, complex, and demanding environment. • Develops ad hoc financial and operational reporting and provide analytics and key business metrics. • Performs other duties as assigned. Job Specifications Education, experience, skills required, equipment used. • * Must be 21 years of age or older. • Five or more years of applicable experience with a minimum of three years of supervisory/managerial experience, Associates or above degree preferred, or combination of experience and education. • Extensive knowledge of state gaming regulations pertaining to casino operations preferred • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. • Strong supervisory and leadership skills. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; or related software and query systems.
