Support sales and operations staff by providing quotations, market research, customer correspondence, and handling customer service duties to grow and maintain customer base.
High school diploma or GED with some college preferred, knowledge of freight forwarding air and ocean, basic sales knowledge, ISO training, customer service and inside sales experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
JOB SUMMARY Sales Support/Customer Service is responsible for working both cooperatively and at branch level with the Sales staff to grow existing customers, create new customers and meet or exceed monthly sales quotas and to maintain competitiveness and increase NNR’s market share while increasing customer service. Handle and coordinate whatever customers demand between sales and operation staff, take care of cargo claims at all times and close files. Duties & Functions Essential: • Provide our customers and overseas partners with quotations when sales staff is not present. • Provide the sales staff with market research. • Generate proposals for the sales staff. • Assist sales staff and operation staff with correspondence included overseas partner, e-mails, faxes, etc. • Perform customer service duties with correspondence to customers and overseas partners, e-mails fax, etc • Contact present customers who have not shipped regularly to determine shipping status. • Conduct telephone sales to prospective customers. • Update airline rates for sales department files. • Provide customers with air flight and ocean shipping information. • Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaints. • Set up and maintain customer files. • Update customer profiles. • Effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary. • Effective communicator, understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and business clients. • Comply at all times with NNR USA standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient business operations. • Perform other duties as requested by management. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS Education & Experience: • High School diploma or equivalent GED. • Some College business courses or Associate degree preferred. • Thorough knowledge of the freight forwarding industry in both air and ocean. • Basic knowledge of sales. • Prior training in ISO. • Prior experience with customer service and inside sales. • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc. • Employee must have excellent organizational and communications skills. Physical requirements: • Flexible and long hours sometimes required. • Light/Medium work - Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, frequently and/or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
