Title: Hourly Research Analyst Department: Hillier College of Arch & Design Reports To: Assistant Professor School of Art and Design Position Type: Staff Position Summary: We are seeking a candidate for a grant funded fixed-term employee at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). The successful applicant will contribute to a cutting-edge project focused on the development of a digital twin within the NVIDIA Omniverse platform. This role is ideal for a current or recent graduate in computer science, engineering, design, or a related field who is enthusiastic about virtual simulation, AI, and advanced computing technologies. Essential Functions: - Design and implement digital twin models and simulations using NVIDIA Omniverse. - Develop and maintain Python scripts for model integration, data manipulation, and simulation automation. - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to align the digital twin technology with project objectives. - Participate in regular project meetings and present findings to stakeholders and project sponsors. - Ensure compliance with all project requirements, including those specific to DoD-funded initiatives. Prerequisite Qualifications: - Enrolled in or a recent graduate Computer Science, Engineering, Design, or a closely related field. - Strong programming skills in Python. - Experience with 3D modeling and simulation, preferably in NVIDIA Omniverse or similar platforms. - Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team. - Excellent communication and organizational skills. - At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position. Preferred Qualifications: Due to the nature of the project funding, this position requires U.S. citizenship. Salary Information: In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the hourly rate/range for this position is $18.00-$25.00 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
