Job Title: Senior Accountant Department: Accounting/Finance Reports To: Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis Location: Hybrid - Work in office with the ability to also work from home. Position Summary: New Age Industrial. is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee our general accounting operations and ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP. This role will play a key part in reconciling accounts, managing month-end closings, analyzing financial data, and providing insights to drive operational and strategic decision-making. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with senior leadership and operations teams to strengthen financial processes, improve efficiency, and support business growth. Key Responsibilities: • Apply project-related accounting methods to document revenue and expenses in accordance with GAAP percentage of completion standards. • Prepare and process weekly customer invoices based on project activity. • Perform monthly unbilled sales/work-in-process calculations. • Execute daily cash and credit card entries into the ERP system to enhance real-time reporting and month-end accuracy. • Review monthly expenditures including labor, materials, tools, and capital projects. • Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations and supporting documentation. • Identify and record accruals, prepaid expenses, and other necessary adjustments. • Analyze and summarize financial data to produce error-free reports and presentations. • Support month-end (10-day close) and year-end close processes. • Assist in financial statement preparation, budgeting, and forecasting. • Partner with leadership to improve financial systems, policies, and internal controls. • Support internal and external audit activities to ensure compliance. • Perform ad hoc financial analyses to support operational decisions. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. • CPA or CMA certification required. • 4–5 years of progressive experience as a Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant, or Controller. • Strong knowledge of GAAP and project accounting (percentage of completion, job costing, accrual methods). • Hands-on experience with NetSuite (including the Projects module). • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, large data analysis). • Solid understanding of general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close. • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting. Physical Requirements: • Ability to perform sedentary work for extended periods, including keyboard use. • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
