MTSI is seeking an Automated Software Test Engineer (Journeyman) to support the Flight Mission Simulator/Digital (FMS/D) program at S3I in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will develop and implement unit tests and automated test scripts, supporting end-to-end automation across the software lifecycle. Responsibilities • Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests ranging from low-level unit tests to high-level integration and functional tests. • Utilize test frameworks such as Google Test (GTest) or CxxTest and Python scripting to drive automation. • Support C++ and GTK3 software development efforts as needed. • Work daily in a secure, closed environment to enable automated testing on Linux-based systems. • Select and employ appropriate test automation tools to meet program requirements. • Serve as a mid-level engineer with strong technical focus on test automation and continuous improvement. • This is a remote position. This task requires daily support in a closed environment. Requirements • Active Secret Clearance • Bachelor’s degree in Software Development or a related discipline from an accredited institution • 3–5 years of test engineering experience Requires Skills • Proficiency in Python scripting • Strong Linux domain knowledge • Hands-on test automation experience (Google Test preferred) • Exposure to automated testing with C/C++ and/or Java tools Desired Skills • Experience with MATLAB • Familiarity with Agile methodologies • Knowledge of various test automation tools • Security+ certification
