Director of Marketing & Development Ministerial Association of Colusa County (MACC) Reports to: Chief Executive Officer Status: Full-Time, Exempt About MACC The Ministerial Association of Colusa County (MACC) is a faith-driven community benefit organization serving neighbors across Colusa, Glenn, Tehama, Butte, Shasta, Sutter, Yuba, and Yolo Counties. Through our departments—Benevolence, PneumaCare Health, North Valley Community Food Bank, and associated programs—we serve communities through health, housing, food access, ministry partnerships, and local outreach. Position Summary The Marketing, Development, and Outreach Director leads MACC’s organization-wide strategy for brand development, communications, fundraising, and community engagement. Serving as a cabinet-level director reporting directly to the CEO, this role sets and enforces unified brand standards for the MACC family of programs, including PneumaCare Health, North Valley Community Food Bank, Crave Café (Workforce Development), and other sub-brands. The Director is responsible for shaping MACC’s public voice, strengthening community identity, managing organizational storytelling, and guiding strategic development initiatives, including grant writing and donor engagement. This role oversees marketing production, public relations, social media, grant writing, outreach efforts, and community engagement programs. Key Responsibilities Brand, Marketing, and Communications Develop and maintain unified brand and communication standards across all MACC departments and sub-brands. Oversee creation of marketing materials, print and digital campaigns, website content, brochures, videos, and public communications. Direct MACC’s public relations efforts, serving as the point of contact for news media, public agencies, chambers of commerce, and community partners. Manage social media strategy and content across all platforms; supervise the Social Media Manager. Ensure messaging aligns with MACC’s faith-based mission and values while remaining accessible to diverse audiences. Development & Grant Strategy Lead organizational development strategy, including grant planning, donor communications, and fundraising campaigns. Personally draft, edit, and submit grant applications as needed. Supervise the Grant Writer and ensure high-quality proposal development and reporting. Build and maintain a multi-year grant calendar aligned with organizational goals. Collaborate with departmental leaders to identify emerging funding needs and opportunities. Outreach & Community Engagement Direct community engagement strategy across all service counties, including outreach events, partnerships, and representation at community organizations. Develop and oversee outreach campaigns, volunteer events, fairs, conferences, and public involvement activities. Supervise the Community Engagement Manager and support consistent outreach standards across departments. Attend outreach events as needed and delegate responsibilities according to workload and strategic value. Leadership & Department Oversight Manage and mentor a growing team including the Social Media Manager, Community Engagement Manager, Grant Writer, and contractors as needed. Establish annual departmental goals, metrics, and strategic plans. Oversee departmental budgets for marketing, development, events, and outreach activities. Serve as a member of the CEO’s cabinet, participating in high-level planning, cross-department alignment, and organizational decision-making. Ensure all communications and development activities support MACC’s mission and faith-driven identity. Cross-Department Coordination Work closely with program directors to ensure branding, messaging, and outreach strategies accurately reflect each department’s services. Maintain strong relationships with external partners such as city and county agencies, chambers of commerce, community-based organizations, and churches. Provide communications support during crisis events or urgent public updates. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, nonprofit leadership, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum 5–7 years of experience in marketing, public relations, development, or nonprofit communications, with at least 3 years in a leadership or director-level role. Proven experience in grant writing and grant strategy development. Demonstrated success leading marketing, brand, or outreach teams across multiple program areas or sub-brands. Strong writing, editing, and public communication skills. Ability to engage effectively with partners, media, public agencies, churches, and diverse community groups. Familiarity with faith-based nonprofit environments and alignment with MACC’s mission, vision, and values. Ability to travel throughout MACC’s service area for outreach events and partner meetings. Work Environment & Location This position is based in Colusa, CA, with flexible remote options depending on organizational need. Regular travel throughout MACC’s service counties may be required. Occasional evening or weekend events may be part of the role.
