Hi, Job Title: Documentation Specialist – Business Process Reengineering (BPR) Location: Remote (Must reside within driving distance of Sacramento, CA) Work Hours: West Coast Business Hours (PT) Travel: Monthly in-person meetings in Sacramento (travel at candidate’s own expense) Visa: Any Note: Candidates with PeopleSoft Financials or financial/accounting experience are strongly preferred. The team works with straight accounting practices, so a solid understanding of accounting concepts, terminology, and financial workflows is essential to ramp up quickly. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Documentation Specialist to support our Business Process Reengineering (BPR) team on a large-scale software implementation project . This role is critical for developing, validating, and finalizing Business Process Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aligned with Agile methodologies and financial systems. Key Responsibilities • Lead the drafting, review, and refinement of Business Process Procedures in accordance with the BPR SOP workflow. • Develop and maintain Confluence pages connected to corresponding Jira tasks. • Participate in User Working Sessions with business users and SMEs to gather insights, ask clarifying questions, and support accurate documentation. • Collaborate with BPR team members to validate procedures, ensuring consistency and alignment with established workflows. • Support client verification sessions and incorporate all final edits into procedure documents. • Maintain detailed revision histories and ensure documentation accuracy, clarity, and compliance. • Ensure all documentation aligns with accounting principles, financial processes, and regulatory standards. Required Qualifications • 3+ years of experience supporting State of government projects. • Strong understanding of Agile software development environments. • Proven background in Business Process Reengineering (BPR). • Demonstrated experience drafting SOPs and business process documentation. • Familiarity with financial systems, accounting terminology, and related workflows. • Advanced proficiency in Jira and Confluence. • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work independently while managing multiple documentation streams simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications • Scrum Master certification or hands-on experience supporting Agile teams. • Experience with PeopleSoft or similar ERP/financial systems. • Knowledge of process modeling tools such as SIPOC, RACI, and other mapping techniques. Work Environment • Fully remote role with required availability during Pacific Time business hours. • Monthly on-site working sessions in Sacramento, CA (travel at candidate’s expense). • Ideal candidates will already reside within driving distance of Sacramento.
