Remote - Candidate must reside in the CONUS Salary Range: $110k - $130k Travel - As necessary, depending on project needs (Flexible) We are seeking a highly skilled and disciplined MEP Project Manager with deep expertise in medical gas piping systems and electrical/control wiring to manage complex healthcare projects across multiple states nationwide. This position oversees all aspects of medical gas and related MEP system installation, coordination, and commissioning within active or new healthcare environments. The ideal candidate is a technically proficient, administratively strong project leader capable of driving large, compliance-sensitive projects with precision and professionalism. A strong understanding of NFPA 99, NFPA 70 (NEC), and healthcare construction standards is critical. Core Responsibilities Project Leadership & Coordination • Manage the full project lifecycle, from estimating and preconstruction through commissioning and closeout, for medical gas and electrical/control system scopes. • Serve as the primary project liaison between owners, designers, subcontractors, and field staff. • Oversee and coordinate all project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress reports. • Conduct project meetings, document decisions, and ensure accountability for deliverables and schedule adherence. • Develop project-specific phasing plans and sequencing to minimize downtime and disruption within occupied healthcare environments. Technical Oversight – Medical Gas & Electrical Systems • Manage the design review, layout, and installation of medical gas systems including oxygen, vacuum, nitrous oxide, and medical air piping in accordance with NFPA 99. • Oversee alarm wiring, control integration, and monitoring systems tied to medical gas infrastructure. • Coordinate electrical and control system interfaces for compressors, vacuum pumps, alarms, and emergency backup systems. • Ensure all work meets applicable code requirements and inspection standards. • Review and verify testing, brazing, verification, and commissioning documentation per ASSE standards. • Support system startup, validation, and certification activities. Healthcare Construction Focus • Plan and execute work within occupied hospitals, outpatient centers, and clinical facilities, enforcing infection control and interim life safety requirements. • Collaborate with facility engineering staff to plan tie-ins, shutdowns, and system cutovers. • Enforce and document ICRA and ILSM requirements throughout the construction process. • Coordinate safety barriers, containment, and infection prevention measures to maintain facility compliance during construction. Financial & Contract Management • Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project budgets, cost projections, and change order logs. • Oversee subcontractor performance, scope alignment, and pay applications. • Provide leadership in procurement and logistics for specialty materials and long-lead components. • Track key metrics and report progress to executive leadership. • Ensure contract deliverables, closeout documents, and warranty obligations are completed accurately and on time. Quality & Safety • Enforce compliance with company, facility, and OSHA safety standards. • Lead safety meetings and monitor jobsite adherence to procedures. • Perform ongoing quality checks to ensure installation meets design intent and technical standards. • Maintain inspection readiness and proactive issue resolution with AHJs and facility inspectors. Qualifications Education & Experience • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field (or equivalent technical experience). • 7–10 years of experience in MEP or specialty system project management. • Strong emphasis on medical gas systems and associated electrical/control integration. • Experience managing projects within healthcare facilities or other mission-critical environments. • Demonstrated success managing multi-state or regional projects. Technical Competencies • Deep working knowledge of NFPA 99, NFPA 70 (NEC), and FGI Guidelines. • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite. • Strong understanding of electrical systems, control wiring, and alarm integration in medical environments. • Ability to interpret mechanical, electrical, and control schematics. • Knowledge of ASSE 6010/6030 standards and system verification processes. Leadership & Communication Skills • Exceptional organizational and administrative management capability. • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging diplomatically with owners, engineers, inspectors, and field staff. • Adept at balancing technical detail with schedule and financial accountability. • Proven ability to lead project teams through complex, multi-phase construction. Preferred Credentials • PMP, LEED AP, or equivalent project management credential. • Experience with design-build or integrated project delivery (IPD) methods. • Familiarity with VA, DoD, or large institutional healthcare standards (preferred but not required). Performance Expectations • Deliver all projects safely, on time, and within budget while meeting or exceeding compliance standards. • Maintain administrative control and precision in documentation, reporting, and communication. • Build and sustain strong client and team relationships through integrity and responsiveness. • Anticipate technical challenges and resolve them before they affect cost or schedule. • Represent the company with professionalism and technical authority on every project.
