This is a promotional opportunity, limited to Civil Service Employees in the Metro Nashville Department of General Services only. This promotional position announcement is for Administrative Services Manager - Metro Postal Operations Manager, a full-time Civil Service position in the Department of General Services. This position supervises, manages, and coordinates all activities of the central mailroom for the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County • Evaluates, plans, and schedules mail processing procedures and carrier routes. • Resolves the more demanding customer issues while providing high quality and timely customer service. • Educate and provide assistance to customers for all Postal needs. • Direct liaison with USPS to enhance cooperation between the government units. • Ensures compliance with Postal regulations, policies, and procedures. • Supervises, directs the work, and evaluates employee performance and productivity. • Counsel with and correct employees as necessary. • Maintains and assist with Postal budget preparation and prepares financial analysis reports. • Prepares monthly Postal billing and activity reports and manages program outcome. • Manages all accounts payable and receivable activities for the division. • Ensures Postal software and equipment is in proper working order and orders supplies. • Communicates with all Metro departments and agencies in developing and implementing mail service programs that are beneficial to all parties. • Participates in and assigns special projects as needed. • Represents Postal division at meetings. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree and five (5) years of professional experience in a Postal, Mailroom, or Advanced Customer Service environment. • Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education* Exam Weight: 100% Interview Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.
