2+ years healthcare billing experience, knowledge of insurance carriers and eligibility, strong analytical and communication skills, typing speed 50 WPM preferred, onsite with some remote work after training.
• Please note this is an onsite postion based in Colorado Springs, CO.* Duties and Responsibilities: We have an outstanding billing and finance team, known for accuracy, productivity, and exceptional customer service to both patients and team members. • The Accounts Receivable Specialist will maintain current coding and billing knowledge to troubleshoot denied claims. • Process claim rejections held within the third-party clearinghouse. • Post and process denials verified during AR work. • Submit appeals and process third-party overpayments. • Communicate with third-party and government payers to ensure timely follow-up for missing or incorrectly denied claims. • Assist the team with eligibility and benefit verification for in-office surgeries, including calculating surgical estimates for patients. • Submit authorization requests to various insurance carriers for in-office surgeries and patch allergy testing. • Work closely with the Surgery Coordinator team to ensure all surgical patients receive timely care with approved services. • Participate in Team Workshops and project assignments. • Support internal and external customers via phone calls, billing help desk, and billing team emails. Qualifications • 2+ years' experience in healthcare billing required • Proficient knowledge of insurance eligibility and benefits • Comprehensive understanding of insurance carriers, including state programs, federal programs, and commercial plans • Experience submitting authorizations for surgical procedures preferred • Strong analytical skills • High precision, attention to detail, and excellent organization • Strong time-management skills • Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm • Proven success working collaboratively and delivering high-quality work • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; customer service experience a plus • Alignment with the organization's values and mission Schedule This is a full-time (40-hour) position with business hours Monday through Friday. The position is based at our headquarters office in Colorado Springs and offers one remote workday per week after completion of training. Compensation & Benefits Starting compensation is $20.00-$22.00 per hour (depending on experience), with eligibility for overtime. The practice covers a portion of medical benefit premiums and offers vision, dental, and 401(k).
