Minimum 3 years new business processing experience in financial services, team leadership skills, knowledge of life and annuity products, proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong communication and organizational skills, and willingness to pursue relevant licenses.
Job Summary The Director of New Business Operations reports to the Senior VP of Operations with dotted lines to the Head of Insurance and Head of Annuity design centers and leads the team of new business processors. Key Responsibilities: New Business & Underwriting – Life, Annuities, Disability, and Long-Term Care • As an Advisor advocate, collaborate with Advisors and Home Office personnel to provide the best offer for the end client. • Enhance new Advisors’ field underwriting expertise through tailored individual coaching and group training sessions. • Lead, Mentor and empower New Business Coordinators to serve as Advisor advocates with the Home Office, proactively managing Other Than Applied For (OTAF) offers and assessing additional requirement requests. • Lead and contribute to initiatives aimed at optimizing operational efficiency and enhancing the overall advisor experience. • Act in a New Business Coordinator capacity. • Review and process applications within 24 hours, ensuring accuracy and completeness. • Communicate promptly with advisors on corrections, status updates, and submission requirements. • Manage medical requirements, policy assembly, and document submissions within set timelines. • Maintain real-time updates in the Client Management System throughout underwriting and processing. • Follow up daily on pending or "Not in Good Order" business, coordinate with underwriters and case managers. Design Center Support – Advisors and Brokers • Collaborate with the Head of Insurance and Annuity Design Center as a resource on navigating the underwriting process and advisor experience. Required Qualifications • Financial Services Industry Experience. • Team leadership experience in a former role. • Brings a minimum of 3 years’ experience in new business processing, strong understanding of medical impairments, solid knowledge of life and annuity products, case design concepts, and leadership. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and adept with general office and business technology. • Demonstrates a strong commitment to quality, with exceptional attention to detail and pride in delivering superior service. • A clear and proactive communicator, capable of collaborating across functions and roles. • Navigates multiple systems and platforms with ease, leveraging technology to maximize efficiency. • A dedicated team player with a positive, caring attitude and a client-first mindset. • Possesses a passion for research, problem-solving, and continuous improvement, paired with outstanding organizational and time management skills. • Open and committed to professional development, including obtaining any preferred licenses or registrations (SIE, Series 6, Series 63, Series 7) needed for growth within the firm.
