Job Description for Line Cook: The Line Cook is tasked with the preparation and cooking of various food items following specific recipes and adhering to set standards of quality and presentation. Their responsibilities include keeping the kitchen clean and orderly, following food safety guidelines diligently, and working together with the kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences. The Line Cook's duties revolve around food preparation, portion control, storage practices, and food presentation, all while ensuring a hygienic and secure workplace. Responsibilities for Line Cook: • Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, and storing food items properly. • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients following recipes and preparation checklists. • Cook food using various kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, fryers, and microwaves. • Prepare cold dishes and ensure consistent food presentation according to quality standards. • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor; wear clean and proper uniform. • Collaborate with team members, communicate effectively, and contribute to a positive work environment. Qualifications for Line Cook: • Obtaining a high school diploma or its equivalent with a G.E.D. is required. • Minimum of one year of relevant professional experience. • Proficiency in adhering to cooking instructions and meeting presentation requirements. • Previous experience in a leadership role is not a prerequisite. • Proficiency in functioning effectively both autonomously and collaboratively within a group.
