The AI Product Engineer will design and ship end-to-end product features across frontend, backend, and AI services, utilizing AI-assisted development to enhance quality, cost, and latency metrics. Responsibilities • Design and ship end-to-end product features across frontend, backend, and AI services (TypeScript/Node or Python). • Use AI assistants to scaffold code, then review, harden, and test it like a pro. • Build evaluation suites (golden datasets, unit/integration tests) that gate releases for accuracy, safety, cost, and latency. • Implement guardrails: prompt-injection mitigation, output validation, rate/abuse controls, PII handling, and secret management. • Instrument everything: tracing, cost/latency dashboards, failure taxonomy, and alerting. • Own vendor abstraction (OpenAI/Anthropic/Azure, vector stores, embeddings) with clean interfaces and fallbacks. • Partner with Product/Design on scoping, and with Data/Infra on deployment, CI/CD, and runtime reliability. • Document prompts, versions, assumptions, and “known bads” so the next iteration is faster. Skills • Proficiency with TypeScript/Node and/or Python, REST/GraphQL, containers, and CI/CD. • Hands-on with LLM APIs, vector databases, retrieval patterns, and prompt/version control. • Comfortable with Azure or another major cloud; can stand-up services and infra as needed. • Product mindset: you measure success by shipped value, not LOC. • Frontend experience (React/Next) and design systems; DX tooling. • Data wrangling (Pandas/SQL), feature stores, or light MLOps. • Low/no-code pragmatism (e.g., Power Apps) when it’s the right call.
