Design and build scalable, high-performance mobile systems for generative video processing and playback.
Expertise in Swift and Objective-C, deep knowledge of media frameworks like AVFoundation and Metal, and experience optimizing mobile app performance.
The Opportunity Luma AI is building the next era of AI with Omni models that can see, hear, and understand the world. As a full-stack company, we possess the capital and compute resources necessary to compete at the frontier of AI while maintaining a lean team structure. You will be part of the core engineering group solving the hardest problems in mobile performance and media processing. Where You Come In You will build the engine that powers our mobile creative tools. This role involves designing systems that handle the extreme complexity of generative video, from managing real-time playback pipelines to optimizing on-device inference. You will work to push the boundaries of what is possible on mobile hardware, ensuring that our professional-grade tools are responsive and stable. What You Will Build Media Infrastructure: Architect the low-level systems for video processing, editing, and playback, leveraging frameworks like AVFoundation and Metal to handle high-resolution media. Scale and Reliability: Design high-throughput mobile systems capable of serving generative video to millions of users, solving novel challenges in memory management and asynchronous processing. The Intelligence Layer: Build the integration layer for our proprietary multimodal models, optimizing for inference speed and network efficiency. The Profile We Are Looking For Systems Thinker: You have a track record of building scalable, complex mobile applications, with a preference for inventing solutions for novel problems. Technical Depth: Expert-level fluency in Swift and Objective-C, with profound knowledge of AVFoundation, Metal, or similar media frameworks. Performance Obsession: You have a history of using profiling tools to diagnose and resolve complex bottlenecks in memory, battery, and rendering performance.
