Position Overview As a Client Accounting Supervisor, you will manage the operational side of client financial work—including bookkeeping oversight, payroll supervision, and FP&A support. You will lead the team members performing these tasks and be accountable for ensuring that all contracted deliverables are accurate, timely, and completed to Luca’s standards. This position is well-suited for someone who excels in a startup environment, enjoys building and improving processes, and is energized by helping scale a growing company through structure, innovation, and leadership. This role may be performed hybrid from our Tampa office or fully remote. Key Responsibilities 1. Team Supervision & Leadership • Supervise bookkeeping, payroll, and FP&A support staff • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to internal standards • Lead with a proactive, solution-oriented approach 2. Contract Compliance & Operational Oversight • Ensure all client contract deliverables are completed • Maintain standardized deliverable and workflow trackers • Oversee bookkeeping cycles, AP/AR workflows, payroll cadence, and analysis tasks • Identify issues early and drive timely resolutions 3. Bookkeeping Review & Month-End Control • Review categorizations, reconciliations, GL accuracy, and schedules • Own the month-end close timeline and ensure consistent execution • Review financial statements before CFO approval • Improve close checklists and enforce quality standards 4. Payroll Oversight • Supervise team handling payroll processing • Review payroll data and reports for accuracy and compliance • Support escalation or complex payroll issues • Ensure alignment with client contracts and internal processes 5. FP&A Oversight • Oversee FP&A staff generating dashboards, KPIs, and forecasts • Ensure high-quality insights and financial reporting • Maintain templates and standardized analysis formats • Support variance analysis and client reporting cycles 6. Tech, Software & AI Adoption • Promote efficiency through new tools and AI-driven workflows • Ensure the team consistently uses Luca’s tech stack (QuickBooks, Gusto, Ramp, Reach, Airtable, Zapier, AI tools) • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement • Maintain strong documentation and standardization 7. Client Communication • Serve as an operational point of contact • Request missing documents or information • Escalate issues requiring CFO involvement • Ensure professionalism and responsiveness Qualifications • 4+ years in accounting, audit, bookkeeping, or financial operations • 1–2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience required • Strong understanding of GAAP, month-end close, payroll cycles, and FP&A fundamentals • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online is required • Comfortable working with modern software and AI tools • Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-first mindset • Ability to thrive in a startup environment • Excellent project management and communication skills • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Compensation & Benefits • Competitive salary • Unlimited PTO + paid holidays • Hybrid (Tampa) or Remote work flexibility • Career path into Operations Manager, Controller, or Director-level roles • Opportunity to help shape the systems and operations of a rapidly scaling startup Pay: From $70,000.00 per year Benefits: • Paid time off • Work from home Application Question(s): • Are you proficient in using QuickBooks Online?
