What You Will Do: • Oversee a team responsible for the timely processing of financial activities requiring application of technical accounting knowledge specific to their area. • Lead training and coaching to build team accounting expertise and review employee work to ensure quality and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis. • Manage and perform moderately complex analysis (i.e. historical, forecasting, impact, etc.) and timely reconciliations to support monthly, quarterly and annual closing cycles in accordance with US GAAP. • Research financial transactions within assigned areas to identify issues and independently determine appropriate solutions. • Execute special projects to resolve complex, non-recurring accounting issues to ensure accurate and effective financial results. • Communicate effectively within the team, across functions, and with external vendors to resolve audit related questions and issues. • Partner with the business and team to identify transaction issues and process improvement opportunities to more effectively support organizational needs. • Foster a culture of continual improvement and process excellence within the team. • Prepare and review monthly financial statement analyses. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field • 4+ years of experience in accounting OR Master’s degree in Accounting and 3+ years of experience in accounting • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Access) • Strong understanding of US GAAP concepts and financial controls, with the ability to apply this knowledge to the design and execution of activities within the respective area Preferred Qualifications: • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate • Master’s degree in Accounting • Experience with inventory-related accounting • Experience leading a team and/or supervising others, directly or indirectly • Experience with SOX testing, internal controls, and compliance • Experience working with diverse teams on enterprise-wide projects • Lowe's finance or accounting experience Lowe’s is an equal opportunity employer and administers all personnel practices without regard to race, color, religious creed, sex, gender, age, ancestry, national origin, mental or physical disability or medical condition, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, military or veteran status, genetic information, or any other category protected under federal, state, or local law.
