About the Role Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior ABAP Development Lead (Security Experience a Plus) to guide the technical design, development strategy, and advancement of a global SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud environment. This role is ideal for a seasoned SAP developer who excels in architecting scalable solutions, leading development teams, and collaborating closely with cross-functional business and IT partners. While development leadership is the core focus, experience with SAP security concepts—such as RBAC, GRC, or compliance controls—is considered a strong plus. You’ll drive the build and enhancement of mission-critical SAP applications, define development standards, and ensure high-quality, high-performance solutions across the enterprise. Key Responsibilities SAP Development Leadership (Primary Focus) • Lead end-to-end development of custom SAP solutions in S/4HANA Private Cloud. • Architect and develop applications using ABAP, ABAP RAP, OO ABAP, Smart Forms, and Adobe Forms. • Build modern user experiences with Fiori/UI5. • Develop CDS Views, OData services, and RESTful APIs using ADT, BOPF, and BRF+. • Deliver high-quality WRICEF objects and perform performance tuning using Workbench, SAT, ST05, ST12. • Oversee complex integrations involving SAP CPI, IDOCs, BAPIs, RFCs, and flat-file interfaces. • Collaborate across FI/CO, SD, MM, PP, PM, and QM modules to deliver cohesive end-to-end solutions. • Manage DevOps processes and transport management to ensure compliant, controlled deployments. Security & Governance (Secondary / Nice to Have) • Contribute to role design, RBAC concepts, and authorization strategy. • Support GRC, SOX, and GDPR compliance efforts as needed. • Help integrate security controls into the development lifecycle. • Assist with audits, remediation activities, and compliance reporting when required. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. • 8+ years of SAP development experience (S/4HANA or ECC). • 3+ years in a senior technical or team leadership capacity. • Deep expertise in ABAP, ABAP RAP, Fiori/UI5, and modern SAP development practices. • Strong WRICEF development background and CDS/OData experience. • Experience or familiarity with SAP security concepts (RBAC, GRC, etc.) preferred. • Hands-on involvement in multiple SAP full lifecycle implementations. • Understanding of Basis, infrastructure, and system performance principles. • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
