Seeking an experienced Senior Associate Electrical Engineer to join a Boston office. This role is ideal for a highly capable technical leader who can guide electrical design efforts, oversee project delivery, mentor engineers, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients. You will work on complex, high-performance buildings across sectors such as healthcare, science & technology, higher education, commercial, and mission-critical facilities. As a senior member of the team, you’ll be responsible for driving design quality, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring that all electrical systems are delivered to the highest standard of safety, reliability, and performance. Key Responsibilities: • Lead electrical system design for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, emergency/backup power, and low-voltage systems. Provide technical direction from concept through construction. Produce and review calculations, specifications, one-line diagrams, and layouts while ensuring full code compliance. • Manage projects, budgets, schedules, and deliverables. Coordinate with all disciplines, oversee QA/QC, and support construction administration through RFIs, submittals, site visits, and punch lists. • Serve as the main technical contact for clients and design partners. Maintain strong relationships, lead meetings and presentations, and support clear communication throughout the project. • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, provide technical guidance, and support hiring, onboarding, and team development. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field; Master’s a plus. • 7+ years of electrical engineering experience in the building design or MEP consulting industry. • PE license required (MA preferred or ability to obtain). • Proven track record leading electrical design for complex building projects. • Proficiency with industry tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, SKM/ETAP, AGi32, Bluebeam, and MS Office. • Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA, IES standards, energy codes, and sustainable design practices. • Excellent communication and leadership skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
