Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team remotely. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in cloud computing, automation, and enterprise software systems, ensuring seamless integration and continuous delivery across diverse environments. As a senior member of the team, you will lead initiatives to optimize our IT infrastructure, enhance system performance, and support disaster recovery strategies. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain automated deployment pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and TFS. • Manage cloud infrastructure across platforms including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, OpenStack, and VMware virtualization environments. • Implement containerization solutions with Docker and Kubernetes to facilitate scalable microservices architectures. • Automate configuration management using Ansible, Puppet, Chef, and Terraform to ensure consistent environment provisioning. • Monitor system health and application performance utilizing New Relic, Splunk, Elasticsearch, and log analysis tools; troubleshoot issues proactively. • Oversee system security measures including cloud security protocols, firewall configurations, identity & access management (IAM), and network security best practices. • Maintain enterprise software environments such as WebSphere, Weblogic, JBoss, Tomcat, SQL Server (Microsoft & MySQL), Oracle databases, and SaaS applications. • Develop scripting solutions using PowerShell, Bash (Unix shell), Groovy, Perl, Python, C#, C++, Go, Ruby on Rails, and T-SQL for automation and troubleshooting. • Lead incident response efforts for system outages or security breaches; coordinate disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime. • Collaborate with development teams on requirements gathering for new features; support software development lifecycle (SDLC) including testing and release management. • Ensure compliance with IT infrastructure standards while implementing continuous integration practices aligned with Agile methodologies. Experience • Proven track record as a Senior DevOps Engineer or similar role with 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure management and automation. • Extensive hands-on experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes), virtualization (VMware), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). • Strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines utilizing Jenkins, GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket repositories; familiarity with TFS is a plus. • Deep understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, WAN/LAN configurations; experience managing network administration tasks. • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash shell scripting, PowerShell, Python; experience with system administration across Linux/Unix environments. • Knowledge of enterprise software deployment including WebSphere Application Server, Weblogic Server; experience supporting large-scale distributed systems is preferred. • Familiarity with security protocols including cloud security best practices; experience managing incident response and incident recovery processes. • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while effectively collaborating within an Agile team environment.
