This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr. Technical Writer (Remote- Part-Time) in United States. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sr. Technical Writer to create, update, and maintain high-quality technical documentation for complex systems. This role involves producing Electronic Technical Manuals (ETM), Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM), and related materials for technical and non-technical audiences. You will work remotely in a fast-paced environment supporting mission-critical programs, collaborating closely with engineers, project managers, and training teams. The ideal candidate excels at translating complex technical information into clear, concise documentation while adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements. This part-time position offers flexibility while contributing to impactful projects for government and defense clients. \n Accountabilities: Author, edit, and maintain ETMs, IETMs, and other technical documentation in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. Convert technical content into training materials, manuals, or web-based documents suitable for various audiences. Participate in Technical Manual In-Process Reviews (IPRs), validation, and verification activities. Manage technical corrective actions, ensuring accurate and timely updates to documentation. Edit and update User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) copy for clarity, readability, and consistency. Evaluate presentation methods, text content, and formatting for technical accuracy and compliance with MIL-STD and TRADOC standards. Collaborate with project teams to ensure documentation aligns with system requirements and operational objectives. Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Journalism, English, or related field, with 8+ years of relevant experience, or 12+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Proficiency with Arbortext, XML, SGML, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project). Strong knowledge of MIL-STD, MIL-HDBK, MIL-PRF standards, TRADOC regulations, and government technical writing processes. Demonstrated experience redlining technical manuals and making live updates to IETMs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, creative thinking, and time management. Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail. Active Secret-level government security clearance required. Willingness to travel as needed. Additional Skills That Will Set You Apart: Government or defense contracting technical writing experience. Experience generating and updating technical instructional material.
