This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr. Technical Writer (Remote- Part-Time) in the United States. As a Sr. Technical Writer, you will play a critical role in creating, updating, and maintaining technical documentation for complex systems and products. You will develop clear and precise manuals, guides, and digital content that support both technical and non-technical audiences. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, deep familiarity with technical writing standards, and the ability to translate complex information into user-friendly content. You will collaborate with engineering, product, and training teams to ensure documentation aligns with system requirements, regulatory standards, and user needs. Ideal candidates are proactive, adaptable, and thrive in fast-paced, results-driven environments. \n Accountabilities: Author and update Electronic Technical Manuals (ETMs) and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) in compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements. Interpret Statements of Work (SOW), System Requirement Documents (SRD), and Verification Cross-Reference Matrices (VCRM) to produce accurate documentation. Plan, design, and maintain computer-based or web-based training modules and end-user guides. Edit and review technical materials for clarity, grammar, style, layout, readability, and conformity to standards. Participate in Technical Manual In-Process Reviews (IPRs), validations, and verification events. Record, track, and maintain technical corrective actions and updates. Update User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) content as required. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure documentation is transferable into training, manuals, and digital media. Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen with eligibility to work in the United States. Active Government security clearance at Secret level or higher. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Journalism, English, or related field, with 8+ years of relevant experience, or 12+ years of experience in lieu of a degree. Proficiency with Arbortext, XML, SGML, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint). In-depth knowledge of MIL-STD-45001-1, MIL-HDBK-1222, MIL-STD-3031/ASD, MIL-PRF-63002, MIL-PRF-63033, DA PAM 25-40, MIL-STD-40051-1D, and TRADOC regulations. Strong technical writing, editing, and redlining skills for manuals and instructional content. Excellent time management, creative thinking, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and adapt to rapidly changing priorities. Preferred / Additional Skills: Previous government contracting and technical writing experience. Experience as a technical illustrator or with EPCO processes. Technical Writers certification. Benefits: Competitive hourly rate ($60–$70/hr). Remote work with required travel as needed.
