This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Platform Engineering Lead in California (USA). We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineering Lead to define, architect, and evolve a cutting-edge internal development platform (IDP) that empowers developers to focus on building core business solutions. This role offers the opportunity to lead a cross-functional team, implement best-in-class cloud-native practices, and drive the adoption of Platform Engineering principles with a product-focused mindset. The ideal candidate will enhance developer productivity, champion self-service capabilities, and ensure platform scalability, security, and observability across multi-cloud environments. This is a high-impact, strategic position that combines technical leadership, mentorship, and hands-on execution while fostering innovation and continuous improvement. Accountabilities • Lead the definition, design, and evolution of the internal development platform (IDP), ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and developer needs • Build, mentor, and guide a high-performing cross-functional team, fostering collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous learning • Promote Platform Engineering principles, including self-service enablement, complexity abstraction, and a product-centric approach to internal tooling • Drive implementation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices, leveraging ArgoCD for declarative Kubernetes deployments • Oversee containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes, ensuring scalable, resilient, and portable cloud-native applications • Collaborate with security and SRE teams to integrate security, observability, and compliance into platform operations • Optimize platform performance, cost efficiency, and resource utilization across multi-cloud environments (Azure and GCP) • Partner with product, architecture, and development teams to gather requirements, align on roadmaps, and ensure platform adoption and success Requirements • University degree or college diploma in a related discipline • 5+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles, including 2-3 years in a Platform Engineering capacity • Deep expertise with public cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform) including compute, storage, networking, and serverless services • Expert-level proficiency in Kubernetes, containerization technologies (Docker, Helm), and managing production clusters • Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps practices, and tools such as ArgoCD • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and scripting languages (Python, Go, Bash) • Hands-on experience with observability, monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions (DataDog, OpenTelemetry) • Strong understanding of cloud security, DevSecOps, and embedding security best practices in workflows • Exceptional communication, leadership, and strategic problem-solving skills • Product mindset with a focus on enhancing Developer Experience (DX) and adoption of internal tooling Benefits • Competitive salary range: $69,100 - $129,200 annually, commensurate with experience • Remote work flexibility within Canada • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, life insurance, and disability coverage • Annual bonus program and performance recognition • Retirement savings plan with generous employer matching • Flexible work arrangements, personal health days, and four weeks of annual vacation • Paid parental leave, wellness programs, and employee referral incentives • Opportunities for professional development, career growth, and hands-on leadership in a transforming organization Jobgether is a Talent Matching Platform that partners with companies worldwide to efficiently connect top talent with the right opportunities through AI-driven job matching.
